LeBLANC, Archie Joseph - 90, Armdale, passed away suddenly Thursday, June 19, 2003, surrounded by his loving family, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born May 29, 1913, in Abram's River, Yarmouth Co., he was a son of the late Melbourne and Eva (Comeau) LeBlanc. He served in the Canadian Military from 1939 to 1945 and then pursued a career with Logistic Stevedoring Co. for 33 years. In his retired years, he enjoyed family and friends, being the social personality he was as well as his hobbies that included gardening, travel, playing cards and dancing. Surviving are his special friend, Ethel Smith; daughters, Jean-Anne (Jim) Sullivan, Jeannette (Bernie) Montgomery; son, Donald (Shirley) LeBlanc, all of Halifax; sisters, Edith Silk, Toronto; Bernadette Belanger, Sherbrooke, Que.; brothers, Desire LeBlanc, Eel Brook, Yarmouth Co.; Jerry LeBlanc, Toronto; Ben LeBlanc, Arbram's River; grandchildren, Pamela Sullivan, Colette Sullivan-Miller, Jim Sullivan, Kerri-Lynn Washington, Craig, Andrea and Ryan Montgomery, Catherine Paynter, Arlene LeBlanc; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Bradley, Marley, Meggie, Jacke, Bradyn. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 58 years, Regina Marie "Mabel"; brother, Arthur; sister, Florence Boudreau; great-granddaughter, Laura Sullivan-Miller. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, 2-4 p.m. Sunday in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor St., Halifax. Funeral mass 10 a.m. Monday in St. John The Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Purcell's Cove Road, Father Yves Marchildon officiating. Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Sackville.
